The workshop

THE PROJECT:

This workshop has been developed and organized in the context of the Erasmus+ project Eurospectives 2.0. Eurospectives 2.0 (https://eurospectives.info/) stands for encouraging European learners to  tell their stories and their perspectives as active citizens. As a spin-off of the strategic partnership, "Digital Natives", the partnership identifies good practices and lifelong approaches in digital learning and digital storytelling. The project aims to enhance the quality and relevance of digital learning offered in education and youth work by developing innovative approaches and disseminating best practices in the assessment of digital skills.
The approach will enable unskilled learners to share their stories, make their voices heard, and participate as active European citizens.

THE STORYTELLING TEACHER LINE:

The workshop, developed by the CFR Vigo, follows the teacher line in the storytelling metro line, in which we can see the basic steps to create a digital storytelling.

STORYTELLING IN EDUCATION:

Benefits of  storytelling in formal education:
  • Improving  key competences,  (learning to learn, social and civic competences, communication in languages and digital competence).
  • Developing critical thinking and empathy, helping the student to understand other points of view, to "put themselves in somebody else's shoes".
  • Creating a sense of belonging to a group.
  • Fomenting teamwork and cooperative learning
  • Breaking down stereotypes and prejudices
  • May be used tranversally in all areas and levels of the curriculum
  • Boosting self-esteem and autonomous learning

AIM WORKSHOP:

The aim of these workshop sessions is for the participants to experience the whole
process of creating a digital story to be used in a formal educational context. Here we will focus on the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the concerns that have arisen regarding emotions and prejudices.

Eurospectives consortium:

The consortium is made up of partners from across several European countries including Germany, the UK, Spain, Greece, Italy and Denmark and it is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
